Online Candidate has launched an updated website platform for political campaigns, with improved content editing, expanded event management, new voter-engagement tools, and better options for promoting campaign donations.
The new system builds on Online Candidate’s campaign-specific tools while making everyday website management easier for candidates and campaign teams.
The updated platform is used for both Online Candidate’s professionally built campaign websites and its do-it-yourself website service. Candidates using either option have access to the same core campaign-specific website system.
“We wanted to make the system easier to work with while adding functionality that candidates can actually use during a campaign,” said Carol Daley, owner of Online Candidate. “The new platform gives campaigns more options for keeping their websites current, promoting important information, and encouraging visitors to take action.”
Built Specifically for Political Campaigns
Online Candidate builds websites specifically for political campaigns. We work with candidates running for school board, mayor, city and town council, sheriff, judge, county offices, state legislature, Congress, and other local, state, and federal offices. You can see the types of campaign websites we support for more examples.
Rather than adapting a general-purpose website builder to campaign needs, the Online Candidate platform is designed around the types of content and calls to action political candidates regularly need.

Online Candidate’s updated campaign website platform includes improved editing and new tools for managing campaign content.
What’s New
Among the major improvements in the updated platform are:
- Improved page and content editing. The new editing system makes it easier to create and update website pages, campaign news, images, and other content throughout the campaign.
- Expanded event management. Campaigns can publish events with dedicated event pages for fundraisers, rallies, meet-and-greets, volunteer activities, and other campaign events.
- New campaign engagement tools. Built-in countdowns, site-wide notice bars, and popover messages can highlight Election Day, early voting, important announcements, fundraising appeals, or other time-sensitive information.
- Improved donation calls to action. Campaigns can more prominently direct visitors to their preferred fundraising service and incorporate donation buttons throughout the website.
These features are built directly into the Online Candidate platform rather than requiring campaigns to piece together unrelated plugins or generic business tools. Candidates can view the full campaign website feature list for additional capabilities included with the platform.
“Political campaigns have very different needs from a typical business website,” Daley said. “A candidate may need to promote an event today, emphasize early voting next week, and make Election Day the focus after that. We built the platform to make those kinds of changes easier.”

One Platform, Two Ways to Build
Candidates can build and manage their own campaign website, or they can have Online Candidate design and set up the site for them.
Either way, they are using the same campaign-specific platform. This gives campaigns the flexibility to choose how much help they want getting online without having to choose between different website systems or sets of campaign features.
