What does IP Targeting do?

Think of it as Digital Direct Mail. Through a unique series of patented technologies, you can precisely target voters online using banner ads, display ads and video. Geo-targeting uses groups of IP addresses to target an area. IP Targeting uses individual IP addresses to target specific households. Your digital ads reach exact targets rather than advertising that blankets an area. Hundreds of political campaigns across the country use this technology every election cycle. You can use your own voter list, or we can provide voter data for you.

How is IP Targeting different than PPC?

PPC or Pay Per Click advertising relies on a user searching for a specific keyword. Ads are placed on the top and sides of the search page along with the search results, and the hope is the consumer will click on the ad. You pay when the prospect clicks on the ad. IP Targeting delivers digital ads to a predetermined audience. The user doesn’t need to be searching for you to see your ads.

Do I have to be an Online Candidate website client to use this service?

This service is open to ALL campaigns. You do NOT have to be an Online Candidate website client for our IP Targeting or Video Promo Design Services.

When is the best time to run IP targeting for a political campaign?
IP targeting campaigns are typically run at two times. The first is early on in order to build awareness. The second is near the election to either build more awareness and/or get out the vote.

IP targeting campaigns can also be used for issue awareness for certain locations or for particular address targets.

Where will my ads appear?

Absolutely! The primary benefit of the IP Targeting platform is that your ads are targeted to specific households with laser-like accuracy.
Who can I target for my advertising?

What sort of reporting is provided?
We provide reports that include impressions served, clicks and click-through rate (CTR). Additionally, we can help set up a tracking link for your own analytics.
What kind of click rate can I expect?

The average click through rate for typical banner ads is .05%. IP targeting tends to perform several times better, and we usually see a range between .15% to .2% click total. As a percentage of audience, the numbers are 2-3% and up.

Again, these rates are several times higher than traditional banner ads. Even without clicks, thousands of ad impressions increase your overall exposure.

Can I use my own voter list, membership, prospect or client list? (Yes)
Yes – the technology can be applied to any list of physical addresses. If you have purchased a list from a broker or other source – you need to check on any restrictions on the use of that data. We use client-provided data and, as part of our advertising agreement, requires an acknowledgement that you have the rights to use any list you provide.
Can you provide voter address and voter record information?
Yes, we can voter data information. In addition to a Voter List excel/CSV, we can provide a Phone List export, Walking List export, Mailing List export and a Telemarketing list export. Request a Voter Record Quote.
Do the online ads go to everyone on the list I give you?
We can deliver anywhere from 50% – 95% matches on the physical addresses you provide. The more recent the list, the better the matching.
What ad sizes are used?
Creatives should be within the following dimensions (below). We recommend that clients generate at least one creative in each size to maximize available ad inventory. While we can run campaigns with fewer sizes, it may limit the inventory available.

Can you create the ads for me? (Yes)

Yes, for each ad campaign, we will create a set of 5 ad creatives for you for FREE.

Can you display video ads?
Yes, we can! However there are specific requirements for using video in a targeting ad. The pricing is also a bit higher. Contact us for more information.
Do I need to have my logo on my ad?
Yes, for political ads to be displayed, your ads must pass a 3rd party audit. One of the requirements of this audit is that some form of identification and disclaimer must be visible on each advertisement. This can be your logo or the name of your organization.
Do you provide IP Targeting services for businesses?
Absolutely! We provide IP targeting for all types of businesses. If you have a company or organization that is not political affiliated, we can still help you.
Is there a setup fee for this service?
