Every site needs a few links to get noticed by the search engines. One one of the easiest (and free) ways to do this is by creating and editing an AboutUs page.
In their own words, About Us is:
“… a wiki whose goal is to create a free and valuable Internet resource containing information both about websites and other community created topics/information. The site was pre-populated with information about many different websites and thousands of updates are now being made by people each day.”
All you need to do is go to the site and search for your domain name. If it doesn’t exist in the database, About Us will create a new page for you to edit.
From there, update and add the relevant information. Be sure to add a few links directly to your site’s issue pages and candidate bio.
Save the page, and your done! Now you have links from an authoritative site. If you have a new campaign site, AboutUs.com should be one of the first places you go to promote it.
