Want to add a little font variety to your campaign website – without using additional graphics?
The Google Font Directory lets you browse all the fonts available via the Google Font API. All fonts in the directory are available for use on your website under an open source license and are served by Google servers. These additional fonts go beyond the typical Arial, Helvetica or Times as the only fonts you can use on your pages without using a graphic file.

The fonts are officially supported by all major web browsers.
Setting up the fonts is fairly simple, but it might require a little technical know-how. By following the step-by-step process, the Previewer allows pages to be given a new look within minutes. Users can test the look of a font scheme before actually applying it to a website. The font size and weight can be adjusted, and changes can be made to the leading, kerning and tracking, and even drop shadows can be added. When the font setup is finished, code is generated to make the changes visible on your website. No knowledge of CSS is required!
Copy and paste the style sheet link and CSS code into your pages, and you’re set. For Online Candidate website users, you’ll want to add this code under the ‘Header Code’ section on the site setup. This will place the CSS code in your site header. You’ll need to tag any text you want formatted in your pages through the Page Editor.

The fonts in Google’s library are all open source, meaning they are free for all purposes. This feature probably cannot replace professional font tools, but the Google Font Directory can help add a little jazz to your campaign website content design.
